If there was a common descriptive for generation X, cynical may very well be the word that appears most frequent. This film capsulates the essence of that word. A cynical, chaotic and excessively driven film through the eyes of a twisted journalist in the midst of a hallucinogenic binge. While being, in of all places, Las Vegas. If you are looking for something that will be an entertaining ride for a couple of hours, this film will fill that necessity, more impressive is how it will resonate with you for hours, days, and weeks after the first time viewing. The message will be unclear, the story, non existent, however, what will be there are a lot of questions about what exactly reality is, and how the disillusion has become a reality in our world. Johnny Depp spent months with Hunter S Thompson learning his behaviors, while Benicio del Toro becomes beyond frightening in his role. Terry Gilliam delivers yet another bizarre, twisted and mind bending masterpiece.
